It wasn’t your normal walk-off homer, but Ayala’s Mateo Matthews put Bishop Amat out of its misery by slamming a two-run homer in the fifth inning to end Thursday’s CIF State Southern California Regional Division I semifinal as a 13-3 victory for the Bulldogs due to the 10-run mercy rule.
